Wherever you are in Australia, you can get information about local services from the privacy of your own computer. The Lifeline National Service Finder lists details of around 7,000 health and community service providers around the country. You can search the database using keywords for the type of service and location required.

The Lifeline National Service Finder has been developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.

Search Tips

  • You can use all lower case
  • Don't use brackets, full stops, apostrophes, commas or any other punctuation when searching.
  • If there are NIL results for the location you entered, redo the search using the next largest town e.g. alcohol drug counselling Iluka gives NIL results but alcohol drug counselling Grafton does.
  • If you still get no results it means that only a state or national point of referral is listed. This applies to aged care, disabilities, education, employment or some sectors in particular states, such as crisis accommodation in New South Wales. In those cases enter a search term without a location.
  • Cities like Sydney and Melbourne can be difficult to search if you don’t know their suburbs but entering the city name in the Town/Suburb field will give you a list of agencies throughout the city e.g. use alcohol drug counselling Sydney instead of alcohol drug counselling Annandale
